Seven days in El Nido is the sweet spot — enough time to complete all four island-hopping tours, visit the best beaches, rest properly between activities, and get a feel for this extraordinary destination beyond the tourist highlights. This 2026 itinerary is designed for travelers who want to see the best of El Nido without burning out. It’s balanced: active days followed by rest days, sea followed by land, crowds avoided by smart timing.

Before You Go: Key Logistics
- Flights: Book early — fly direct to Lio Airport (fastest) or Manila → Puerto Princesa + van (cheapest)
- Season: November–April for reliable weather; December–March is peak — book everything 3+ months ahead
- Pay environmental fee (₱200) on Day 1 at the El Nido Tourism Office — valid the whole week
- Book tours 1 day ahead (or same morning in shoulder season); peak season book further ahead
- Carry cash — ATMs run out in peak season; bring sufficient pesos from Manila or Puerto Princesa
Day 1: Arrive, Orient, Rest
Arrive in El Nido (however long the journey), check in, and take it slow. Walk the main strip (Calle Hama), pick up snacks and sunscreen from the pharmacy, and have a relaxed dinner at a beachfront restaurant. Don’t schedule any tours on arrival day — you need to settle, rest, and plan.
Evening: Walk to the pier and watch the sunset over the islands. Book Tour A at a tour office for tomorrow morning. Pay the environmental fee at the tourism office. Early bed — tomorrow starts at 7am.
Day 2: Tour A — The Iconic Lagoons
Depart 7–8am. Tour A is the must-do and the reason most people come to El Nido. Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Secret Beach, Shimizu Island. If budget allows, book a private bangka (₱4,000–₱8,000 total) to reach the lagoons before the crowd boats arrive. Return ~5pm.
Evening: Tricycle to Las Cabanas Beach for sunset. Zipline if you’re up for it. Return to town for a slow dinner. Book Tour C for Day 3.
Day 3: Tour C — Best Snorkeling
Depart 9am. Tour C covers Shimizu Island, HP Reef (best snorkeling in El Nido), Star Beach, and Matinloc Shrine. The HP Reef coral walls are extraordinary — bring your own mask for best visibility. Return ~5pm.
Evening: Rest. Explore the side-street carinderias for cheap, excellent Filipino food. Book Tour B for Day 5.
Day 4: Land Day — Nacpan Beach by Motorbike
Rest your sea legs with a land day. Rent a motorbike (₱600–₱800) and ride 45 minutes north to Nacpan Twin Beach — one of the Philippines’ finest stretches of sand. Arrive early (8am) to have it largely to yourself. Swim, read, explore the second beach across the sandbar. Ride back via the scenic inland road. Sunset at Corong-Corong beachfront.
Evening: Dinner at a Corong-Corong restaurant with sea views. Debrief the week over fresh seafood.
Day 5: Tour B — Snake Island & Cathedral Cave
Depart 9am. Tour B is the least-visited of the four — which is a feature, not a bug. Snake Island sandbar (check tide times the night before for low tide), Entalula Beach lunch, Cathedral Cave interior, Pinagbuyutan Island snorkeling. Return ~5pm.
Evening: El Nido town exploration. Night market, local bars, meet other travelers at a hostel. Book Tour D for Day 6.
Day 6: Tour D — Helicopter Island & Caves
Depart 9am. Tour D covers Helicopter Island (distinctive shape, great beach), Cudugnon Cave, Inambuyod Beach, and Bulalacao Island. The least-visited tour route — enjoy the relative solitude. Return ~5pm.
Evening: Splurge dinner. You’ve done all four tours — celebrate. Try the whole grilled crab or lapu-lapu at one of the better beachfront restaurants.
Day 7: Slow Morning & Departure
Your final morning in El Nido. Wake up without an alarm. Walk the public market early (7–8am) — buy dried mango, local honey, woven souvenirs. Slow breakfast at a cafe. Swim one last time from the Corong-Corong beach if time allows. Transfer to Lio Airport or the van terminal for your onward journey.
Optional Add-Ons for 7+ Days
- Diving certification (3 days): Replace Days 3–5 with a PADI Open Water course and add remaining tours afterward
- Kayak day on the bay: Rent a sea kayak from Corong-Corong and paddle the local coastline independently
- Waterfall hike: Replace one afternoon with a motorbike + hike to Nagkalit-Kalit Waterfalls
- Duli Beach: The remotest beach accessible by road — 90 minutes north, almost always empty
- El Nido town cooking class: Learn to make Filipino dishes; several local operators offer these
